Yes, Wireguard is also good to create a tunnel to your node machine. Only that is a bit more complicated to configure and not all users are comfortable with linux commands.
For users with node bundles like Umbrel, myNode, Raspiblitz etc, using Taiscale is just 2 clicks and done. For those I wrote this guide not for "linux gurus" :)
